STUDIO TOUR | DEEP DIVE

BANGALORE ART WEEKEND

A new art & culture festival initiated by Usual Suspects sought to celebrate the tech city’s unique perspectives on the creative, with a vibrant programming of talks, workshops, film screenings, panel discussions, and more. Not only did Praxis design the festivals visual identitly, we were invited to host not one, but three events across the weekend.

Our first, a deep dive into brand building through the lens of narrative building— the common denominator that ensures aesthetics and functionality meet. Through client case studies presented by Praxis founder, Vritika, and founder of Bangalore-based agency Form & Flow, Sayesha Kaur, our audience got a unique peek into processes and strategies behind building brands from the ground up.

The next stop, an intimate Studio Tour of Bangalore’s favorite design store, General Items, with founder Malini Malik, and led by our Programming Lead, Shamika Desai. A photographic and tactile walkthrough of the store’s conception, construction, and current product lines, and with hundreds of archival photographs captured by Malini, we took a closer look into the tiny space’s big impact on the city. It’s unique design philosophy, and approach to curation and collaboration with local and global artists, designers, and brands engages customers with a fresh appreciation for everyday products that go beyond the ordinary.

And finally, an artful discussion with a powerful panel of women from the contemporary landscape — Farrah Siddiqui Khan, Nidhi Jacob, Smruti Gargi Eswar, and Namu Kini, moderated by Vritika — who spoke passionately on women’s contributions, tribulations, and the continued gaps in India’s creative ecosystem. The women offered personal anecdotes, and raised critical questions on where inclusivity, opportunities, and justice must meet to support a thriving creative economy in the future.
