Branding, Visual Identity

One of Bangalore’s iconic heritage wedding venues, The Tamarind Tree, recognised its unique position in the Indian wedding industry to expand from a sought after venue into a full-service wedding planing consultancy. In doing so, The Tales of Tradition was born, with a mission to celebrate the many cross-cultural marriages that are significant to to a modern India.

We worked closely with the team and our partners at CORE Experiences to build The Tales of Traditions’ new brand— redefining their brand promise, highlighting their unique approach, and crafting assets that spoke to their sensibilities and work. The brand now stands independent of the original Tamarind Tree venue, with its identity firmly rooted in Indian wedding traditions.

Where other wedding consultancies leveraged scale and grandeur, or whose brand was centered around its founder, the team at The Tales of Tradition stood out as a collaborative group of storytellers. In aligning with their approach of crafting every wedding as a love story, the identity takes cues from Indian miniature paintings which often retell mythologies and history. Balanced with calligraphic type and layout treatment that is reminiscent of elegant weddings cards, the design lends to an elevated Indian look.
